When your dead is it true ur hair and nails grow?

email me the answer please thanx alotWhen your dead is it true ur hair and nails grow?
they do for short while but not continuous it just appears so the skin around your fingers and head just deteriorates...When your dead is it true ur hair and nails grow?
no
Yes they do.
No, it is not true. When you die the body starts to break down and skin retracts giving the impression that hair and nails have grown.

The first places we start to decompose are the nose, eyes sink back into the skull and the stomach distends because of the build up of gasses.

It has been said the we don't decompose as quickly as we used to due to the food additives that we eat over the course of our lifetime.A hidden side effect from preservatives!.

A few years ago a cemetery was cleared in North Manchester to build an office block. A lot of the coffins fell apart on being lifted from the ground exposing the remains. There was one coffin that opened and the body inside had not decomposed at all, it looked as though a good Doctor could get her breathing.
it is true that hair and nails continue to grow.. sometimes up to two weeks .. what happens.. is the body stops. but the cells have energy that is still being released.

I know when my father passed away.. he had shaved before hand and at the funeral he had facial hair and it freaked me out.. mostly made me think it couldnt of been him..
Err no.
yeah it is true that your nails still grow, im not to sure about hair.
Looking it up, it seems that it's a myth. The skin retracts (surrounding hair/nails) post death making them appear to grow.

more detail for you:

Many people believe that a person's hair, fingernails and toenails continue to grow after death. Despite what you may have read or seen in the movies, this is false. Once a person has died all growth of the hair and nails ceases. After death the body dehydrates and the skin around the hair and nails will recede a little making it appear as the deceased's nails and hair have grown. However, it is only an optical illusion. The nails and hair remains the same length as before but more of it is exposed due to tissue shrinkage.

Second answer:

Dead stuff doesn't grow. Instead, what is perceived as ';growth'; is acually the surrounding tissues receding, or shrinking, as a result of moisture loss from the once living surrounding tissue. Hair and nails are mostly protein (keratin) and contain very little moisture (in comparison to skin cells) and thus don't shrink.
yes, for a little while
sure does
i have seen pictures in books of coffins that have ben opened up years after and the people have like 20 inch nails and hair that would reack ho their toes

but whose to say that the person wasnt like this when they died

oooh and i have also seen pictures of open coffins with finger scratch marks on like the person was still alive trying to get out

now that scared me enough to make me want to be cremated, i definately know i will be dead then

xxx vici
yeah its true, but who cares your dead. Eventually your body will decay
No, but it seems to because everything arround it is retracting.
Yes it's true.
no it is not true what really happens is the flesh / skin around them retracts making them appear longer
The only time that your hair and nails regenerate is when you're alive.. There is no such thing as dead people's hair or nails growing while they are no longer alive.
its getting rid of the hair and nauils in youre system so its not growing
I've heard that they continue to grow for about 6 months.
