Will a dead finger nail ever grow back?

my middle finger in my left hand accidentally got caught between the door of he car before. It turned purplish-black and the nail itself swelled. the black stuff inside the nail started to come out until only a few black spots was left. now it turned yellow and it's starting to fall off but some of my skin is still attached. also when i wash my hands and the nail gets wet, i feel like it will easily fall off if i just yank it out.

do i just pull it out or do i bandage it and wait for it to fall out?

will it ever grow back? Will a dead finger nail ever grow back?
Usually yes. It depends how far back into your finger the damage goes. As long as the tissue that prodecuces new nail is not destroyed, the nail will grow back eventualy. The visible portion of the nail can be completely destroyed. Will a dead finger nail ever grow back?
You can cut it back to the area where it is attached. As long as the nail bed isn't damaged the new nail will begin to grow from there. This takes a long time, about 6 months for a nail to grow completely out. The ';black'; stuff by the way was dried blood from the bleeding that occurred when you injured it.
finger nails are dead... yeah they will grow back

but you know you can cut your hair and nails without it hurting? its because they are made up of dead cells... if i pull ur hair out though, it hurts because the cells in the roots are alive... same with the nails
