Any tips on how to grow nails. im trying to stop biting mine and would love long nails!?

First of all, in order to grow long nails you must quit biting them. There is a fingernail polish that you paint your nails with and tastes nasty when your finger goes in your mouth... it helps with stopping biting your nails.

Second... nails take a while to grow in. Take some multivitamins and file your nails so they look nice. Nails that have been bitten are usually jagged and uneven looking.

Third... I am sure there are products at the store that help with growing nails. If you are not sure what product is best, go get a manicure and ask the manicurist what would be the best way to grow nails.

Fourth... be patient. This takes time, but you will eventually have nice long nails.

I use this green tea 5 to 7 day growth clear polish. It really works and my nails don't break or peel anymore. I bought it at Wal-Mart for about $3. Also any Sally Hansen nail growth polish also works.
chew gum instead

try painting your nails that yucky stuff that tastes horrible.

if that doesnt work paint them in a nice colour and then you wont wanna ruin them. keep your hands busy and make sure ur parents and friends tell you when your biting them to stop.

It just takes constant willpower to stop biting your nails. You need to be aware of each time that you feel like biting your nails, and figure out in that situation something else you can do instead. For example, each time that you feel like biting your nails, take out a nail file and just gently smooth the edge of the nail, and the urge will pass. Also, make sure you are using hand lotion after each time you wash your hands, which will keep your hands and nails moisturized. You should generally keep your nail edges filed smooth, so that there are no little bits that are tempting to start to bite, and there are no rough parts that will snag on things or break off. After a couple of days you will start to see the difference in the health of your nails, and then you just have to keep at it every day. After about 2 months of not biting your nails, that actually becomes your new habit, and you just have to stay on top of those situations where you want to go back to the comfort of the habit of biting and keep dealing with it.
