I have a toenail infection it is yellow and a new nail is growing underneath please help i am scared?

i'm going to a chropidist on monday and i am a real worrier i need to no what they will do and if they will do it on the first opointment and if it will hurt thank you xI have a toenail infection it is yellow and a new nail is growing underneath please help i am scared?
I have this! Its really painful to walk on, when i went to the cropadist, she used these tools to get the side bit out where the nail is digging in, it hurt a little, but then it didnt hurt for a while after that, then a few weeks ago it came back, and i got it out myself this is what i did: pull the skin away from the nail so you can see down the side, then at the top corner of the nail where its digging in cut it a bit further down than the rest of your nail then the part thats sticking in will be sticking up at the side and you can get it out by gripping onto the bit of nail with nail cutters and you can pull it out, it doesnt hurt at all and i did it within a few minutes and when it grows back ill do it again. Dont worry your cropast will put numbing stuff on to stop the pain, if she is a proffesional one. If she has only just started she wont do this and if its really bad, she will book you into the hospital to get it removed.

Thats what mine said, and i hate hospitals so i said no way. I think you should do it yourself its really easy. i understand why your scared because yellow stuff comes out and its really painful. Ive been on medication and it gets rid of the infection, but it doesnt get rid of the ingrown toenail, so its a wate of time. Its not the gooey stuff im bothered about its the nail

Good luck, i know how you feel.I have a toenail infection it is yellow and a new nail is growing underneath please help i am scared?
It is a podiatrist that usually takes care of feet but, they will look at your toes and give their recommendations. It will probably involve medication to kill the fungus. Depending on how your toenail looks to them, they may or may not choose to removed the old nail. They might want to get the fungus under control before they do this. Only the doctor can decide after looking at your toe.
You will survive its no big deal Betty
