Has anyone taken pre natal vitamins and had their hair and nails grow without being pregnant?

Yes, but i now take vit.B12 complex it does the same is somewhat cheaper.Has anyone taken pre natal vitamins and had their hair and nails grow without being pregnant?
Yes, many a girl friend has told me that those prenatal vitamins have really made their hair grow. But if you eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables and eat a lot of protein (especially eggs, which contain cysteine and makes the hair have a silky feel ) and take a multivitamin , you can achieve the same results just like if you were taking the pregnancy vitamins alone.Has anyone taken pre natal vitamins and had their hair and nails grow without being pregnant?
honey that is WAY not safe. it is never good to take vitamins that are not prescribed for you. they have to be prescribed by a doctor, anyway.
I've never read of someone doing that but from my knowledge with nutrition classes at the university I attend it probably wouldn't be a smart idea. The extra vitamins are probably unneeded in your body and could therefore cause a problem with too much of certain vitamins. You may have adverse side effects so probably not the best idea. I use Vit. E oil and I cut my cuticles every few weeks it seems to work just fine.
yes, and if I could keep getting that Rx I would. But a lot is to be said for a pergo mother's diet too. Most women change for the better nutritionally when prego. So it isn't JUST the vitamins.

Start eating foods that make you feel and move good after you eat them.

';Milk does the body good'; is true (FYI: before ';Got Milk'; was pastered everywhere)...and for females you need the calcium for yourlater years to avois tooth chipping and bone decalcification.
as a cosmotologist that had a baby 5 weeks ago, maybe i can shed some light on the subject. everyone is different so whether ur hair groes fast or slow normally is what ur gonna go by. the thing u need to be careful with the vitamins cuz u can get too much of a certain vitamin and thats not good either, if u want, for hair and nails instead of over doing all the vitamins, ask ur DR. about taking vitamin B complex, that is for healthy hair. with a balanced diet too makes a huge difference. :) hope that helps
i have- and it works too- you don't have to have an RX- just any multivitamin formulated for pregnant women is fine- really if you compare the levels/amounts of the vitamins you'll find that vitamins for pregnancy just have more folic acid, more iron and more b vitamins- each of which women usually don't get enough of regularly anyway- taking these pills won't hurt you anless your sensitive to iron-( you'd probably know if you are) don't take them on an empty stomach- take them after eating breakfast for example. (the increased iron could make you nauseous on an empyt stomach) they are perfectly healthy and fine to use and they really do work for making your hair and nails healthy and shiney-

but it takes a while you know- but they have a lot of other benifits too- like not feeling so weak during your period because of a loss of iron or better mood and immune system because of the b vitamins and folic acid...

quick tips for healthy shiney hair and strong nails right now: warm your regular conditioner in the microwave for just a few seconds to just warm it- apply to already shampooed hair, wrap in a warm towel and let sit for 15 min before rinseing- works much better than the hot oil treatments you can buy.

for nails: before a manicure appy a deep conditioner or even petroleum jelly to hands(especially your nails) and wrap with saran wrap- place in an already warm heating pad on a low setting- let hands sit untill saran wrap warms and starts to become sticky remove and wash hands- and notice how soft they are now- i know its a weird beauty treatment but do this once a week and soon you'll notice stronger nails too...

have a great day!
